So now we are back at Gatwick.  Tired but happy.  We have learnt a lot, enjoyed many things and had a total change after all that has happened of late.  And I have got my massive brolly past Easyjet.  Extra cabin baggage!!  It must be my pretty face. 
And yes, it was an emergency buy brought on by a cold and wet snap in Salamanca, which did not spoil the experience in any way.  Thanks to my three companions for keeping me going.
